Received mine a few hours ago, the settings button does not appear to work. I reset the device by pressing play and next for 6 seconds, did not work. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Update:
I connected it to my computer, deleted the System folder, ejected, rebooted and all is well

Sorry, no idea — I’ve never seen that. You could try removing your SD card just to make sure there’s not some wonkiness coming from there. I looked at the user manual, and they don’t mention a ‘factory reset’ option that I could find. They do mention a combination to use if the screen locks (‘play/pause’ & ‘next’ buttons simultaneously fo 6 seconds).

Sadly, if the problem continues it’s probably a bad unit.

BTW, I have experience w/ Cowon support. My v1 Plenue II developed a ‘sloppy’ 2.5mm jack. I ended up sending it to Cowon USA (in Fremont CA IIRC). They shipped to Korea, and I eventually received a whole new unit. Bad news is that I was without the player for 3 months.

So you have 2 (well really 3) choices:

Return to Amazon before the 30 days are up — you’ll probably just get a refund since the player is out-of-stock.
Wait and see if it becomes available again on Amazon and, if it does, set up a return hoping that they send you another unit
Wait past the 30 days and handle it through Cowon hoping that they do an exchange.

I should also mention that they were pretty slow responding to email. But that was about 2 years ago, so now, who knows?

JetEffect 7 is easily the most ridiculous DSP I’ve ever tried in a player!
Do you guys know if the presets are just combinations of the EQ, BBE, Mach3Bass, 3D, MP, and SE settings? Or a subset of?

Glad i pulled the trigger on this. Paid 399 (really 299 as i used AMEX rewards for 100 of it) for a new FIIO X7 and AM2 module in 2017 so this was almost free at 424. Better feel to the Plenue, the 2.5mm allows me to use my IEMs and custom cables without having to use an adaptor and the interface is snappier. X7 was fine but the android experience was usually sluggish. X7 will replace the X5 i use when working in the yard. Probably wont use the A5 with the Plenue, will join the X12 in the drawer.

Finally found the 3D surround effect by going into a user preset and there is where you can toggle it on and at what intensity. Pretty damn cool effect!

i feel like i am cheating when using these jeteffects but my gosh, they sound great. whatever voodoo is in the BBE+ is fantastic.

been using the BBE ViVa setting with my custom Viento-B and it adds just the right amount of punch and clarity and soundstage to make these sound amazing.

What volume level are you all using from the se output? I’m having to set mine up to 70 on rock setting which seems high (my previous dap it was normally around 50). On normal setting it’s even quieter.

I’m around 90 on normal setting with Etymotics. Higher than I would’ve thought but it goes to140.

@alterndog : Plenue 2 mkii has the "headphone mode" and 140 volume levels. I use 90 volume for the Klipsh Hp3 and 80 for the Dita Fealty ( headphone mode)

50 out of what ‘max’?

I tried my iBasso IT-04s out of the SE jack although I normally use balanced out for everything. Comfortable ‘loud enough’ volume is about 70/140 and 85/140 is ‘wait, that’s too loud’. Balanced is 55/140 & 70/140,

BTW, IT-04 & P2mk2 are a very Good pairing.

Got mine today and made a 4.4 mm to 2.5 mm balanced in a record time just to try balanced out on this little guy. Will report back once it has burned in.

So how long is the burn in period?
