I suspect he is having trouble using tapatalk with Huddler. Since head-fi is just a customer using the Huddler service, I think it might be more useful to complain to Huddler, not head-fi. Even then, why would Huddler have any responsibility to be compatible with tapatalk? I would think it would actually be more appropriate to complain to the tapatalk people - they are the ones that claim to work with forums.

A quick look at the FAQ for tapatalk and I found:

Q: Which forum system does it currently support?

A: Currently phpBB3 3.x, vBulletin 3.6 to 4.x, xenForo, IPBoard 3.x, SMF 1.1.11+/2.x, MyBB 1.4/1.6, bbPress 1.1/2.0 and Kunena 1.6+ are supported. Other forum system might also support Tapatalk with plugins developed by third party developers using Tapatalk API.

No mention of Huddler...
