Hearing Dave Brubeck's Jazz at Oberlin on a modded 3960 to a Sonic T amp to the K1000s - who would have thought that odd combination would sound so great? I highly recommend picking up that SACD Hybrid, it's great - i wore out my first redbook CD of that album!

SonyMusicStore.com looks like it has dave brubeck on sale btw, so it's not a bad way to pick up som CDs right from the source!

Second the previous mention of Bill Evans and Oscar Peterson, and am amazed no one has suggested Erroll Garner. A bit on the pop side of jazz, but quintessential '50's - '60's era piano - check out "Concert by the Sea".
