I asked the same question last year on the HF5 appreciation thread - someone (quite and experienced HFier) said not. Its worth checking the thread for views on both IMO

I already have the HF5, so it wouldn't be worth getting them for me. If I didn't have have them, I'd buy these quick as

Okay. Nobody buy these. NOBODY PUT THIS ON <DEAL WEBSITE> OR I WILL <BE UPSET WITH> YOU.

Seriously. I have a contact in the UK who said they can help me out, but not until midnight... on tenterhooks here

I picked up a pair of these as my first "good" phones, and I still have them, if that says anything. They do things in the high end that NOTHING I've heard since has matched. they DO have enough bass, but they wouldn't be my choice for metal or other bass-heavy music. On female vocals, jazz, and folk they sing.

I know a lot of people are saying that ER4P are lacking bass, but imo they do have enough of it.

BTW: £80 is very cheap!

Notice you have them in your sig mark. How are these things for a)ease of use to insert take out and b)what are they like for rock/metal sort of stuff?

Files are alac on a 2nd gen 32gig touch.

Would be using these at work.

ease of use, yeah is pretty good with olives. i really never got on with the triple flanges but a friend swears you get used to them but small olives work fine for me. they do go in plenty deep and dont expect to just pull them out in a heartbeat, they do take a few seconds to gently ease them out.

for rock and metal, hmm maybe a bit bass light but will have super crisp highs and you will hear every detail whether you want to or not. a fiio boosts the bass nicely on them

oh and the isolation on them is incredible, beats everything else with ease

Cheers for that. May leave them then. Had a look at a video of how to insert them and didn't like the look of how far they went in. Didn't look the most comfortable of processes either!
