Depends on the amp you use with it. If you have an iBasso T2 or a Xin Supermicro, it's pretty damn portable.

If you have a V-Cap dock and a big amp, you might as well be carrying around your home stereo.

I don't see the connection. What you need is a player that pre-caches a few tracks. Flash vs. HDD has nothing to do with this.

skipping a lot songs and always is an abuse on the HD. Likewise shuffling.

^^ That's news to me. I was under the assumption that all HDD players performed some form of pre-caching by now to speed up play times when skipping tracks. And when shuffling, the player should still know what the next few tracks are going to be, right?
