Pioneer SE-A1000 (Sennheiser HD 650 for $45?)

Thanks to this thread I had to give these a try.  They arrived today. I've only had 1 hour of listening time but so far...these things are amazing for the price.  The OP compares these to the Senn 650. I've never heard the 650 but 99% of my listening time is spent with my Senn 600's.  I can certainly see the comparison. I'm a little concerned I might end up liking the Pioneers more. That's how good the Pioneers are.  So far I've sampled these cans with my iPad and my Pioneer SX-650. They sound great powered by either one but literally come to life when given some real power from the SX-650.

Enough has been said about these cans in this thread so I won't say anymore except if a $400 pair of Sennheiser cans isn't in your budget BUY THE PIONEERS.  You won't be missing much.

Currently have HD 595's and I am looking for a bit of an upgrade.

Would these be on par with the 595's or better?

Would I be better off looking at Fidelio X1's for a true upgrade?

You should read about AudioTechnica AD900x and Sennheiser HD598. Fidelios are probably darker with bigger bass. It depends on what you are looking for.

If you are from US an can get pioneer for 40usd or something, go for the pioneers. Outside US I encourage to do some research...but If you have a change to get pioneers for 40usd go for it... You wont't regret it.
