Pictures of your portable rig part VIII
Jun 4, 2007 at 5:32 AM Post #197 of 1,186
I barely used my portable rig, so I sold it to purchase a setup for my car, since I listen to most of my music while driving.

I still needed something for working out and doing chores around the house, so I picked this up so I can use it as smaller size thumb drive. I looked up a Sirius' alt nation 21 playlist and tossed those songs on the DAP instead of subscribing to Sirius.

I also threw Fontopia sleeves on the FX-33 and made the holes bigger with a push pin. Sound much better than stock imo, maybe a bit brighter, but it's a sound I prefer. Not as detailed or engulfing as my DT-990s, but its just right for the little things, and It won't hurt my pocket if something were to happen to them.

4th Gen 60 Gb iPod Photo iModded => Revelation Audio Cryo Silver IC => LaRocco PRII MkII => Shure E500. Sometimes I substitute the SR-71 or the Tomahawk for the LaRocco. In the future a Xin Reference Amp may be the amp I will use.

Well for mobile usage, I typically just use my er4Ps straight out of my 8GB nano.

8GB Nano / ALO Cryo Copper / RSA Tomahawk / Grado SR225 or ER4P

but I've started this little number now too.
(note: sr225s are interchangable w/ er4ps. i usually leave the 225s at home

)

Very nice rig and very nice photo as well.
It feels like a Nikon DSLR. What camera are you using?

Actually I'm a canon shooter

( If It made sense to switch though Id trade it all for a D2Xs and D200 plus nikons best glass )

That was with a 5D and my 16-35mm f/2.8L lens.

If you think having a headphone addiction is dangerous. stay the hell away from photography lol. But I can justify it all as it makes me money

I absolutely Love the Tomahawk, it truly made my Sr225s just snap to life, and not to mention I'm surprised how well the bass response has gotten.

and yes, the 5D is an amazing camera. especially with L glass

Alright, upgrade to the rig, same old camera-phone quality pictures.

The iM716s have been recabled, the new cable was then reterminated and then to top it all off I added 44 ohms of resistance. What's next for the overly modded Altecs? Well, there are two major parts other than the drivers that are left stock on them and I want to change that.

*Woot, better pictures are here. Much better than before. Back to wishing the filters for my headphones were here.
