Half of head-fi is using HD414 pads for all kinds of different headphones and one of the few that is actually using the HD414s doesn't have the pads. How do they sound with the ipod?

they had pads on them, but they weren't that comfortable so i thought i'd try them without the pads just for the craic and they're actually quite comfy and sound alright so i don't really see any point in getting new pads. 'though i think they're the really high impendance ones, so i've had to crank up my itunes volume to 200% and crank the ipod up full. but most of the time i just use them at archery to listen to some music between ends and at breaktime, so they're dead on for that.

New here, my headphones are nothing special (Sennheiser HD590s & PX200s), but I'm quite pleased with my new iPod 5G 60GB, Sonic Impact T-amp, and modified Roksan Hotcakes home office rig:

And since the T-amp runs on batteries, I can easily move the system anywhere throughout the house so it is portable!

I like the worn look as well. This metal case was pricey ($20usd +) but solidly- built and well worth it.
