I used to own the R50, I didn't realize it was that old

I was going to get one YEARS ago, but was convinced that they were a novelty, a waste of money.

No it's not analog, in fact it was marketed as a digital replacement for analog cassettes. It is now a niche but hardly a waste of money, worth every single penny I spent. Have you tried one before? Give it a try, any MD should impress.

A bad photo of an incredibly old mp3 player...
IHP-130 (previously 120)
Deaths: 1
Paint: Negligible (Mine was one of the very first batch with that paint problem)
Age: Coming on 5 years old (circa 2003)
Battery Life: Shorter with rockbox, still managing 16hours+ on stock firmware playing VBR-Extreme mp3's

- I want a IHP-140 so i can upgrade the hDD to 100gb or something insane like that.

ipods... the whole... itunes... and "you must spend $Xhundreddollars to make it sound half decent" kinda turns me off

I haven't filled the 30gb's yet!

I used to run IHP130> ALO cryo mini2mini > Pa2v2 > MS-1 but they got too bulky as a portable setup

Will soon have a MD player as my portable needs are much less now. Only need a about 2 CD worth of music for my daily commute.

The er4p's are the best audio purchase I have made thus far.

I had the X3's before them and the upgrade is massive. And a little EQ on the h120 can bring thumping bass (though I keep it down a bit). Crossfeed also helps a lot.

I have JUST noticed this - it seems the iriver has dodgy grounding... it's not TOO bad - but it's noticeable lol - lineout has the same problem too

Did anyone figure out a way to kill it?

Floor noise on the H120, using the er4p, is relatively low. With no music playing, it really isn't bad at all- very quiet.

I agree, I think it's the fact that they're isolating too.... go the IHP crew tho!

Thanks for making me want them just that little more!
