hey tenaciousO, could you take some pictures of the h10 20gig next to some other things to give a size/thickness comparison?

How about a 4g ipod since that seems to be the reference when it comes to size?

The H10(20) is basically the same height and width as the ipod:

It is noticeably thicker though:

But even though the H10(20) is thicker, it doesn't really feel that much bulkier. I think it's due to the weight. Remarkably, both players feel like they weigh pretty much the same.

Additional comments: I was going to mention...it does sport a five-band equalizer. I'm not sure if that's different from the H3xx series, but I thought i had read that the user could only adjust the bass and treble in addition to the other presets. So far, I'm liking this player a lot. It doesn't sound as good as the Zen Micro, but it's still pleasing to the ear. The middle portion of the touch strip doesn't seem really accurate and could have been implemented better, but I do like the extremities of the touch strip because they act just like buttons and work really well. I haven't tried any of the other features except for the radio, which is much stronger than the one on the micro.

Now to answer what some people might be wondering...why the H10(20) instead of the X5? First, the H10 was an impulse buy, and the X5 isn't available yet. Second, I tried out the M3L briefly and thought it sounded good generally, but the mids sounded strange, and I wasn't able to correct it through the equalizer or any of the other settings. Third, video playback on such a small device seems useless to me, especially since I have a laptop and carry that with me everywhere. Fourth, I've always liked the styling of the H10 series, and as soon as I saw the light shine off the H10(20)'s silver trim, I knew I had to have it.

What the hell...

Why is it called the H10 (20)?... Looking at the pics I thought it was the H10.

Sorry about me calling this thing thin, i thought that when this player came out it would be called the H20. Good job iriver, way to confuse the hell out of me.

It's just called the H10. I put the 20 in parenthesis as shorthand for 20gb H10. Battery supposedly lasts 16 hours or so. I haven't run it down yet. I've probably used it about 4 hours, and it's still full. Overall, it feels pretty solid. The buttons feel kind of cheap though.

Yes they are. They integrated for making the player less bulkier (they failed at it) and increasing the battery life.

The Karma is a great unit, shame it was discontinued, I hope the follow-up is half as good, but I have a bad feeling it won't have nearly the features.
