Keep clicking on the numbers and it'll appear that it may actually have only 2 drivers
Or is it 2 drivers in 1 enclosure?

Maybe the clear UE10pro owners can tell us if theirs have 3 drivers or not

It definitely looks like there are 2 in 1 enclosure since one is twice the size of the other one.

there appear to be only two drivers, one larger and one smaller, like the e5c. i hope that i am mistaken, as this would be bad kudos to shure.

There was a good diagram in one of the e500 threads showing the internals. I think there are 2 drivers in one enclosure then another driver in another enclosure.

Here we go:

Looks nothing like this:

I'm slightly disappointed. Someone else open up their E500s for us to see!

If the two woofers do the same thing, I think the triple driver thing is just a gimmick. One bigger woofer would fulfill the same purpose; and with the UE-10 Pro, the point of having three (different) drivers was so that each driver didn't have to handle as wide of a frequency range. If Shure can do it with two, that would be fine with me (and potentially easier on my wallet/better sounding).

I thought that the UE10Pro was still only a two-way IEM, meaning that the two woofers basically do the same job. The ES3 is the only three-way IEM. Even if the E500 did have 3 drivers, it is still a two-way IEM.

What are you talking about? It looks exactly like that. Here, I pointed it out for you:

I stand corrected. Is there a point to having two drivers that are exactly the same?

Yup, I'm seeing the same thing. The bottom 2 drivers appear to share a sound port, but I don't see how that in any way negates the "triple driver technology" claim.

EDIT: Doesn't UE's triple.fi operate on the same principle -- 1 high-frequency driver, and 2 to cover the low end?

It doesn't, just adds to the claim that Shure gets inspiration from Grado with the plastic, glue, holding it all together.

Thanks. Is there any point to having two drivers that are exactly the same instead of one bigger one? That was my question.
