My car went back in the shop for some hood work and to get slightly detuned. 700hp was proving to be a bit much for a daily driver so I have them detuning it to around 620hp. I don't think the hp is the problem, but maybe how the car is setup, or it's the one behind the wheel not being able to control that power. One of my friends had a '67 Corvette Stingray with 1700+hp for on the track. It was street legal, and while on the road, was "detuned" to 1250hp. The car was as drivable as a new stock Vette, better even, and with ice cold A/C. I drove it to and from the track twice (about 85 miles each way) and was perfectly comfortable behind the wheel, both on the highway and in city traffic. It didn't have an auto either, it was a 5-speed with a heavy throw and rather stiff clutch, but still very drivable. Anywho... |

the track or the dragstrip? |
Surely you mean drag strip? 1700hp on a racetrack would be unmanageable and incredibly dangerous. Nascars and F1s make about 750HP. |
