What do you think have the best overall bang for buck?

Which would be the best to buy overall?

SR80 - They are SR60's with a better cable and bowls.

Be warned that Grado's have a form of viral marketing built in. As you climb the ladder, you'll only pause on each rung. If you judge you'll end up on the RS-1 or GS1000, it might be cheaper to just go there first.

MS-1 for sure. I had the SR225 for a while and they were good without an amp, great for rock music. I stripped down my setup though and sold them, my amp, my DAC, and my cables. Then I ordered the Alessandro MS-1 and have been using it ever since straight out of my iPod, and I couldn't be happier. Awesome SQ, and it does well with just about any music I throw at it.

Vote for alessandro Ms1 for sure, IMO it's more neutral than Grado.

btw. LuckyKarma how does your PK2 compare to your MS1? I've heard in some way that they're quite similiar in SQ..

I say the SR80.
Not heard the Alessandro MS1. But of those other Grado 'phones the SR80 give most value for the money, imo.

Haven't heard any others, but compared to even my Super.fi 3's, the the Grado's cost less when I bought them and they are still much greater, but then again, that's like comparing apples to oranges. I have a question? The MS1's are better than the SR225? I know this is based on value, but how do these two compare? (not trying to hi-jack, sorry).

The MS1's are intended to serve as an alternative to the SR60/80, not the SR225. Perhaps that gives you an idea of how the sound quality compares.

I like the MS1 and 225 for overall value, but all Grado's seem to scale very well because of the ability to modify them in numerous ways.

those are the sweetspots in the Grado Line for me (before the RS... ... of course!
