Greetings, this time I am looking for recommendations to expand my collection of piano recordings. I prefer classical, but there has been a number of jazz records that entertained me also. I like specifically acoustic piano, and if in jazz - then in the piano trio iteration.

Particular composers I adore:
Liszt, Saens, Rachmaninov.
I would like to try things of their aggressive tonalities, but also drifting into both, warmer and atonal directions.

Please recommend me some albums, that are available on CDs. Thanks!

Tord Gustavsen Trio - Being There
Great quality recording; some of the best percussion I have ever heard.

X 2.

That album immediately came to mind upon seeing this thread. Beautiful, yet haunting at the same time.

For Jazz trio, the album that does it for me is: Charlie Haden the Montreal Tapes with:
Charlie Haden: Bass
Paul Motian: Drums
Paul Bley: Piano

Another Jazz Trio Album I enjoy not mentioned so far is: Malcom Braff Trio - Yele

Classical there are quite a few i like some of my favorites are:

* Nelson Freire: Frédéric Chopin, 4 Scherzi / Polonaise no. 6 / Ballade no. 3 / Berceuse
* Grigory Sokolov: Frédéric Chopin - Piano Sonata No. 2, Etudes op 25
* Wilhelm Backhaus: Beethoven - Piano Sonatas
* Vladimir Sofronitsky - Scriabin Studio Recordings

Bill Evans is masterful.

Keith Jarrett is godly.

Eddie Higgins is mellifluous.

And Brad Mehldau is brazen.

Excellent choice. It also puts me in mind of several other records that display Charlie Haden's unique rapport with pianists:

Bley Haden Motian - Memoirs

Charlie Haden and Paul Motian featuring Geri Allen - Etudes

Charlie Haden and Kenny Barron - Night and the City

Charlie Haden, Billy Higgins and Enrico Pieranunzi - First Song

Lee Konitz, Brad Mehldau and Charlie Haden - Another Shade of Blue
