$85 is a stretch IMO.

9500 is good, but I’m not sure it’s that good.

I got mine on the HF for sale board for $50 shipped in mint condition, and they included HM5 angled pads and an upgraded cable.

If it was me, I would look around HF, post a WTB ad, poke around on eBay, etc.

To me 85$/75€ is not bad at all, they could still cost a lot more than that.

I'll try to preserve my SHP as much as I can. Maybe in the future selling it will help me get more shiny stuff

Quick question here for people that have heard both. Should I go out on a limb and buy the 9500 from AliExpress for about 65€ (and be willing to mod the hell out of it) or should I wait and hope I can gather the 150-200€ for a pair of X2 while running the risk of the price increasing again on both of these 'til then?

Really, I'd love to buy the HD6xx from Massdrop, for 200$ it's a steal, but living in Greece makes that problematic. Import charges etc could see the cost ballooning to over 300$, possibly about 350$ plus the trouble of having to mess with customs, which is never a pleasant experience here. Sigh... :triportsad:

I don't own the X2 but both should sound different. The X2 will have more bass and soundstage the SHP9500 should be more airy and tending to the treble side. I think if I were you I would get the HD58X I just ordered mine and when I have them I will compare with the SHP9500

Thanks for your reply bud!

Well, in theory I know exactly how the X2 should sound like. That's the kind of sound signature I want now. For treble and detail and airiness, my MSR7 fit the bill just fine. Even if I go the SHP9500 route, I'll basically mod them to sound as close to the X2 as possible tbh. Still, I guess no matter how much work gets put into them, they will never be X2s.

Regarding the HD58x, same issue with the HD6xx. Customs fees in Greece are all over the place. Unless the vendor provides an option for paying import charges up front, like Amazon does, you never know what you're gonna have to pay. I've heard of people not paying a dime for expensive items and I've heard of people that were asked to pay twice the price of the items they ordered in import charges. It's messed up, I tell you!

Yeah I live in Brazil and it's same here. 60 percent import fees. If you want a smooth can with more bass just get the X2 don't try to force the 9500 be something they aren't. Maybe you are lucky and can get a used pair in Europe or even Greece of the senns they would be the best option for sure
