Are you still searching for the so called "giant killer", especially in the sound region? Well? Change the original in-ear tips from your Philips SHE3580 and replace them with the medium "sky-blue" in-ear tips from the VSONIC color selected tips. You can order them on Ebay or Amazon. Or if you already have these tips then don't hesitate and try it! These are the only in-ear tips to bring balance and perfection to the Philips SHE3580! -No kidding!

This is where the magic begins!

The medium "sky-blue" in-ear tips will transform the Philips SHE3580. How? Well, let's see!

Better lows:  Tighter and deeper lows (less boomy). Sub-bass and mid-bass are more balanced.

Better mids:  Vocals are more forward and present and incredibily clear and life-like.

Better highs: Highs are more noticeable, sparkling and crystal clear.

Bottom line: Incredible improvement in the sound region, where it counts! This minor up-grade will definitely match IEM's costing in the hundreds!

Well? For what it’s worth, money can’t buy everything. But if you’re low in cash, it could definitely get you the Philips SHE3580!

Remember, change your in-ear tips and replace them with the medium “sky-blue” in-ear tips from the VSONIC color tip selection. You won’t regret it!

I think you just found the right tips for your ear anatomy, which is great!  Everyone has to to that.

The sky blue tips (since there are about 5 or 6 different sizes in the VSonic color tip sets) will fit differently in different people's ears -- a different color/size could do the trick for me.  I have about 50 extra tip sets in a baggie, and have found a couple that are a perfect sound match for the SHE3590 for me.

Here is one link for purchasing the VSONIC color selected tips for your ear size!

Link to ebay.com, click below

Now remember, the "sky-blue" tips for the Philips SHE3580 are the best upgrades if you have a medium size ear-canal which is the average tips going for most IEM's.

Trust me, if the "sky-blue" tips fit? You will be astonished by the sound!

Philips SHE3580 (up-graded) VS The Competition

1. For those XKDUN CX-700 fans: Lay-to-rest your unbalanced, high spiking IEM! This is the sound you were searching for!
    Trust me!

2. Monoprice 8320 fell flat! It's hard to believe, but the Monoprice now sounds flat next to these once the upgrade was made!

3. VSONIC GR02 Bass Edition -Sorry there's a new sheriff in town! Philips now extends noticeably better in all areas against these.

4. Sorry SoundMagic E10: The 3580/90 are just more magical and musical then the E10's! You could truly hear the upgrade on the bass area leaving the E10's sounding like a hollow wooden box with the need of insulation to tame the mid-bass.

Final comments: I still own all the IEM's mentioned here, for they are still unique in there own way. But, I do have a new favorite (for now) to call the "giant killer" in the sound region, the Philips SHE3580/90 (upgraded)!

In conclusion:

This survey was done with the in-ear buds I currently have. I’ve been an audiophile specialist for many years and will continue to help head-fi.org members, given the time possible. I am an American living in China for 4 years now, and will continue to provide new leads in upgrading your existing IEM. My time-zone is different from yours, give or take, 12 hours! Sorry, if I do not reply, or write more articles on a constant basis. But, I will be back!

I will be suggesting other surprises to you very soon!

Sorry I've been away for so long!

Best I can tell you is, with the comply T-400 the sound signature could sound a little degraded in soundstage, though you'll get a more forward midrange (speaking for myself, that is). Not my cup of tea. But, it might just sound OK with you. Changing tips for comfort and sound could be subjective. So, if this works for you? Perfect!

-Hope you enjoy your Philips!

The BIG problem with these earphones is the cable. Its really quite terrible (even at this VERY low price point). The cable is extremely thin, very noisy, way to much memory (springy and awkward in use), and  feels terrible to the touch / against your skin. Philips also do not provide enough cable strain relief at the jack end (which is a straight jack). As a consequence I went though about 4 pairs in 2 years, before giving up on them. Shame as they do sound great, especially for electronic & EDM, with there full rich bass and nice top end.

I wish Philips would upgrade the cable slightly...an extra couple of dollars would improve this earphone tenfold and would mean that less pairs of these would end up in landfill, which in this day an age should be a major consideration for any tech company.

I tottaly agree with you 78finn.

I had to pairs of 3595 over two years. The second one just broke on me like a week ago. And interestingly it was not at the jack I guess. As with the first time only the left side stopped working, it might be something with the in line remote. I am not sure.

I loved the sound, comfort and isolation but that cable was horrible.

To the original poster: I also upgraded not long ago to Sony Hybrids because of the hype they got......I was not that impressed. They were not that much better than the stock tips. Maybe they were a bit more comfy and stayed better in the ear but sound wise it was hard to notice any improvement.

Anyway as much as I loved this little earbuds, sometimes I felt that they were loosing control on very complex tracks. Not sure I can pinpoint if this was their weak point but I was considering an upgrade (kind of felt that they gonna stop working soon :p) The thing is that I wanted generally the same sound with preferably better build and staying in the budget (sub 50 bucks) category.

So I quicly gravitated towards Xiaomis. But still it was very hard to decide. (I also was considering the tx1/tx2 from philips because of the innerfidelity hall of fame list- but they are impossible to find here where I live). But after some time of research I kind of fell in love with the Xiaomi Hybrids :p

So finally I went for them. Concerning build quality and cable....it is just a joy to even hold them in my hands :p. Not sure if I could ever get used to the flat cable of the Philips TX series....
As for the sound...well...first I was a bit surprised and dissapointed at the same time...but I am burning them in and hoping things will get better (as many people said they will). Not sure that I would want to go back for the Philips. If only they made one with the same sound but better build and cable (remote is must for me too) than maybe.....but until then I just try to stay away from them :frowning2:
