I have a very similar player to that, from around 1997 I believe. It does sound great, however I feel that I need to run the line out to an amp to truly appreciate the player.

AH! I've been searching ALL day for a high quality newer PCDP and they all seem to have dropped out of existence! I'll have to look at some other DAPs then

I found some D-NE20s! I've herd that there are some compatibility(tolerance) issues with it playing MP3 or ATRAC compressed music. Now if I was planing to make a copy of a cd using EAC, would the player have a problem with it?

Thanks!

I've had no compatibility issues with home burned red book cd's with my D-NE920 that is supposed to be essentially the same player in a less sexy packaging. I've not tried it with MP3/ATRAC disks however
