I've been having such a blast with my Sony CD Walkman D-EJ2000 feeding the optical input of my new iBasso D1 that I've decided to look for another PCDP with an optical output as a back-up.

Trolling the local 2nd-hand shops I've seen a Sony D-15 (20 Euro), Sony D-EJ100 (13 Euro), and a Sony D-EJ360 (19 Euro), but I've no idea if any of them have a mini-optical output.

Is there a listing somewhere of vintage PCDPs with optical outputs?

My Panasonic SL-CT570 and 430 have optical outs, but they are only active when you use the AC adapter.

Many of the Sony PCDP's made during the late nineties & early 2k's had optical-outs. I know my old (recently sold) D-E721 has an optical-out, as does the earlier D-EJ521 model (not sure if there was a "621" series).

Really? I didn't think those Panny models had optical-outs. Are yours Japanese versions?

The CT570 is actually SL-CT570A, and was a Japan only model. It came with an all Japanese instruction manual.

The CT430, I am not sure. All the labels on the back are in Japanese though if that means anything.
