I built 5 numbered custom Whammy cases. I have one left if anyone is interested shoot me a PM. The pictures are of dark grey ano but the one that’s left is black ano. Comes with the volume knob, IEC socket, headphone jack and front power switch.

I’ve been using the whammy with Sparkos Regs and Sparkos opamp…
Wow. This thing could easily be considered endgame worthy in this configuration.

One of the most underrated amps I’ve experienced, at least.

I recently swapped the OPA828 for a Sparkos SS3602, and wow... I think anybody would be perfectly satisfied with the performance of this amp. I don't think it's holding back any of my TOTL cans at all.
Sure, if you're spending Susvara-levels of cash and need a ton of juice, then you're probably going to exploring other options (I'd recommend a first watt design with VFETs in those scenarios.)
Hi, Grzegorz there. I would want to build WHAMMY. I have a question about one fragment from your post, that I put in quote. It's about WHAMMY. What do you strictly mean while talking about the first watt design? Are you referring to a specific project of another amplifier, or WHAMMY, but on other parts? If it's a different project, please provide me with a link. My english is very, very bad so my son is helping me. Greetings, Grzegorz.

Pretty much any of the First Watt amps would be awesome for driving hard-to-drive headphones like Susvara.
Something like the Aleph J might be a good place to start.

Take a look at DIYAudio forums. This is a good thread to get you started.

That being said, the WHAMMY is an amazing headphone amplifier and can easily drive 99% of headphones out there.

I'm thinking about Aleph J for HE6SE, or a mini version, something between that and the ACP+.

The best one for the he6 was the first watt f1j but they are very rare
I'm curious about if we can use other power JFETs that are actually available.

If you can find the Tokin SITs like THF-51S, 2SK180, 2SK182 — go that route. The VFET/SIT amps are like the best of both triode sound and solid state reliability.

First Watt SIT-4 is about to release, too. :)
Look out for the Sissy SIT amplifier on diy-audio. I'm 80% of my way through a build re-utilising a chassis I was using for F4.

At one point when I had my he6 , I had a first watt j2 which I bought first, then I found a f1 that was converted to f1j and got that one . It was no contest between the two the f1j vastly superior for the he6.

I would like to know if JFETs like these can be used with a good effect:

Just received some parts and have my old ACA v1.3 on my bench. Let's see how it goes

Love my SissySIT R.3 monoblocks. Best amps I’ve heard to date. You won’t regret it.

Using JFETs for which amp?
