Accidentally, I found a foam-removing mod for HD650 in this forum. I think it started year or two ago.
Since I haven't seen a post about this mod, I will bring it up again.

As a matter of fact, I removed the inner foam pad and the outer (small circle) and covered with pieces(same size as the foams) of a panty-hose (actually knee-highs).

In the old thread, some said that there was no difference, but I could tell a lot of difference.

For those who have HD650.... it was worthwhile for me.

I have been on the newly 'modded' cans all day. This was the best $1.50 (for the knee-highs) investment in the last year or so...

Zorander, did you put the foams back in?

I also did the pantyhose mod and kept it for about 6 months. Once I started getting into better amps/sources, I put the foam back. In my case it wasn't the Senn's being deficient, it was the rest of the rig. That has been remedied.

Haven't really tried that since I re-foamed the HD-650. I imagine I wouldn't mind either the stock foam or the pantyhose one though, judging by how I liked my HD-600 with either.
