So I did the tape mod on my pair of RP-HTX7s and it seems to work well. Seeing the other holes taped up got me thinking, though. What would happen if you unsealed all of them, or maybe just a select few to boost mids or something?

Welcome to HF. I didn't tape my HTX7, but did a pad mod in teh past.

I already did hundreds of holes variation. And my modding method is final....
