I'm using an upgrade cable for a bit more warmth. I suppose we almost have the same CIEM :)
Do you mind share the info with me? I already am looking for it. Not warmth, just a bit of more "solidity" in the braid. I posted on another forum asking about that.

What about your tuning in your UT-3?

I have the SH-3 without any tuning. The cable is a local made one without any brand on it. A fellow audiophile friend has made it for me.

However I also tried it with Leonidas, Ares II and Grandioso. All excellent.

Effect Audio, right? The UT-3 standard tuning is not the SH-3 in neutral position (swtiches on position 3). It's a bit the same tuning at start, but just slightly warmer. Depending on your taste, the SH-3 might be the best. I am a die-hard treble sensitive guy, but first time that airy and extended treble does not hurt me. Their homemade BA's is a secret weapon

I think they use sonion BAs. They just paste a sticker over the driver model number to avoid people from potentially seeing what specific BAs they use. I can see what series of drivers they use on my sh3 but I can't tell exactly which model..

Nice precision of yours, thanks. How do you differentiate Knowles from Sonion BAs, lookwise?

Graph from my UT-3 should arrive soon from P-EAR-S. I will post it upon arrival.

Well, it just depends on which series and dimensions of the driver. Some drivers between Sonion and Knowles are too close to tell apart if you're looking into the shell without the driver model number left on the drivers. What I cant guess though is the exact model since pears covers it up.

Also I am pretty curious if the next SH (if its coming anytime soon) will roughly follow the same sound signature. Very curious about their update 5 years after SH3.

The graph of my UT-3, received from P-EAR-S. I have very little experience with graphs... but I think it's alright... I am not sure I can hear what's beyond 12K anyway... Screenshot_2020-04-03-08-26-49-297_cn.wps.moffice_eng.jpg

On their same rig the SH3 measures with less midbass and with a little less highs. Looks nice!

Interesting! I felt that the UT-3 tuning had more bass than the SH-3, but strangely enough, I found the SH-3 brighter than the UT-3, the treble being a tad more incisive. Maybe the CIEM, via the deep insertion, tames a bit the treble of the UT-3. I don't know. In any case, eventhough I have no experience with other CIEMs at the moment, I am amazed about the isolation, the confort and obviously the sound of the UT-3. For the time being, the pairing with the Calyx M is the most satisfying, the Dethonray DTR1/HA-2 combo is very good also. The sole purpose of the HA-2 is to eliminate the noise floor from the standalone DTR1.

Sounds like a good combo. How does HA-2 sound? I used to have a DTR1 which had excellent sound but it had to go due to noise floor issues
