Am I the only one hoping that a Drop HD8XX means Sennnheiser is getting ready to release a newer version of the 800S?? Looks like they’re $300 off right now pretty much everywhere...trying to move stock?

Sennheiser announced they are looking to sell their consumer audio division, so its highly unlikely anything new is coming In the short term.

Smart move, IMHO. The press release seems to emphasize “Partners.” I hope they’re able to retain their talent and experience while infusing them with resources and focus from this.
I
the consumer market will be more challenging with AirPods now competing with their core consumer offerings. They really need to be better at the “useful” features like calls and user interfaces/ controls, given the competitive landscape.
$239.99 is for the 3 earpad option.
Interesting stuff, though the 9 month wait and somewhat high price leaves me out.

Nope. If anything, it looks even steeper than stock 800S.
