I am thinking of getting 225 . I already have 770. SHould I do it or not?
My listening mainly: pop, alternative, some rock

Ooops, forgot to respond to this inquiry...

The 770 and current SR225 are different animals. SR225 with flat pads would share some characteristics with the 770 (full bass, warm midrange) but since bowl pads are standard, the 225 will sound more open and less full than the 770. Caveat: I did not spend all that much time with the 770, not enough to get fully acquainted with them to give a really subjective opinion. I didn't really A/B the 770 against anything except a couple of phones I was more or less unfamiliar with. I could not say how the 225 would fit into your listening criteria/requirements.

Well, while we wait for the pics taken by Omer's web guys, I'll post a few of my own. Once I got home, I realized I took over 30 pics that day, but only 4 (!) of the meet itself.

Anyways, the day started with the clouds looking menacing.

Think it would be a great idea. Do not forget that we have a few Grado /Senn dealers in town.

An Ottawa meet would be cool.
Who sells Grados in town?

There is a store in west end on Clyde at Baseline. Audio Centre, bought my son his 225s for $250. Planet of Sound in Ottawa South has them for $300. But Planet of Sound has a line of Grado's that you can test. I had to buy the 225s using my N95 while listening to S80s. Planet of Sound also has the Senn's up to 650.

I got a call from a fellow Head-Fi'er a few days ago, asking if I could host a meet in the new showroom. I co-hosted the last show at the Chimo a few years ago, I'd be up for another, this one would be at my showroom on Merivale Road, opening March 1.
