OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF

Don't have the numbers off the top of my head, but they are about the same as the PM-1/2.

I am currently demoing the PM-1 and I really like them!!

I was wondering if the PM-3 will have the same cool replaceable earpad mechanism and alternative earpad options like velour? I strongly prefer the velour earpads over the leather ones as my ears get hot & stuffy under the leather pads.

The PM-3 is one of the most exciting headphones I've seen in a long time & I am very curious how it'll turn out! hahah.

Don't know if this has been asked yet.

Does the HA-2 have a sample-rate indicator?

Thanks.

I think this was already answer by HasturTheYellow saying the system is different due to some limitation created by the closed design

That would be pretty disappointing (though not a deal-breaker).

No, it doesn't.

There's a power LED, an LED to indicate whether or not the HA-2 is charging an attached source device, and four LEDs to indicate its battery status.

Pretty much a deal-breaker for me.  I'm one of those guys who needs to know if my PC is spitting out the right bits.

Would it have killed Oppo to put a multi-colored LED somewhere on it?!?  Or maybe have the battery LEDs serve a dual purpose???

I'm not sure it's even on their radar as I don't hear this request often for a portable amp. Is there any other portable amp that does this besides the Chord Hugo?

iFi Micro iDSD

Didn't know that about the iFi. Any others? Seems like the ones with the sample rate indicator are on the larger side. If Oppo Digital could add it I think it would be cool, but not a deal breaker for me. Using the HA-1 I trust that the HA-2 would be bit perfect to the input signal.

Why is that such a big deal? Are you worried about not being able to verify your devices are setup properly via other means?

Not that it's a bad idea to include by any means, but I guess I just don't see how that is in any way close to being a deal breaker.

We really shouldn't derail this thread but colour me interested in this.... Any idea what OpAmps are used?

Still interested in the HA2 due to its form factor though.

Don't know about the opamps
With you on the HA2 though , I don't really need all the extra junk that comes with the Pioneer
One thing I would like on the HA2 is a real low low gain so I can drive sensitive iems with a good range of movement on the pot
The market is really getting hot in this sector
