In fact, Opoo pm-2 (1), the headphones are very decent. Two of my friends preferred the Oppo PM-2 sound to the HD 800 sound. All the criticism of them comes mainly from neglect of the sound path. do not think, I do not detract from the merits of the HD-800, it's very good headphones, only with a different sound character .

Also good Oppo pm-2 showed themselves when connected to the jack of the reel recorder Revox pr 99 mk 3. Although, perhaps, they hardly had enough power .

But most of all I liked the bundle - Oppo PM-2 - SMlab amplifier. A well-designed, analog sound, with good depth and localization. Oppo HA-1 liked less. Although they say that the situation is improved by changing the cable and connecting to the balance

As a result of experiments with pads oppo pm-2, we liked the following option with the use of natural felt:

Unfortunately, Oppo have now ceased manufacturing/producing headphones.
BUT fortunately (for me, at least!) I managed to pick-up a new pair, end-of-stock for just over £400 UK.
And all I can say is: WOW!
These beauties are like my HD800’s, but WITHOUT the treble spike.

The female vocals, and the mids on the PM-2's are outstanding IMO.

The pm1 is outstanding with virtually all genres. Pairs beautifully with chord dacs. The best combo.

I tried my pm-2's with the chord mojo, dragonfly black and dragonfly red.

I personally preferred the dragonfly red pairing as it was warmer, and the soundstage also felt a little wider.

I think these have highlighted how much I dislike harsh treble, such a perfect headphone for myself and a real shame about oppo digital ending.

I snagged myself a pair and I'm loving them so far with my Valhalla 2 and Bimby combo. Also sounded great out of my Emotiva Little Ego.
