RS1i's and PS1000's are radically different in terms of presentation and overall character.
The sound stage element and general placement is very different on the PS1000, they're also a lot more neutral sounding
(for a John Grado) than the RS1i - being neither overly warm or tizzy and sharp in the treble.
The PS1000 can be very intimate but the sound stage is all round you, instead of that narrowed focus that we come
to expect from Grado, imaging being great on the RS1i though as always regardless of sound stage size.
It is very unlikely that you will want the PS1000 as your only can - they're amazing - but few people fit the mold.
