i just picked up a x-meridian on offer (actually, a club 3d rebadge),

and i was wondering what opamps do people recommend for this card,
as it carries all of them in sockets,

So what opamps are in there already? I recommend LME49720NA for dual amp DIP package applications.

Then it is NOT a X-Meridian 7.1.

Many had great luck with the LM4562NA. There are others you can use also..

National Semiconductor. Electrnoics delaers would also have them.
If you need the Dip version that is:

LM4562NA

I use the LM4562 and I have change the originals caps for the Black Gate one's. Add to this some DC coupling... Enjoy!

UPDATE: I must add that it is imperative to use the version 5.12.1.8.17.8 of the driver. I don't know why but the latest revision are crap...

The LME49720 is the better sounding version of the LM4562, one of the best dual op-amps so you'll probably be satisfied.

In Vista Fineaxe, I am using the latest driver and the sound is ok.
