Can't wait for the reviews, might get it if it's good enough to replace my DP-X1 and Galaxy S7e.

A bit worried about the camera, Android 6.0 (might never get an update) and battery life (for a day of usage, few hours of listening + normal usage of a smartphone in 2017, including browsing, videos, whatsapp, social network crap etc)

Agreed. The meaning of 下旬 (ge-jyun) is the last ten days of a month (20th-30th). And Japanese companies always release their product in their country first. And a lot of products from other countries have to make a special limited edition in this country as well such as iBasso DX90j, DUNU2000j, AK limited color and much more a lot of 'J' edition.

yeah.. even LG V20 have their special japanese only edition.. LG V34 Issei, which add waterproof feature.

Regarding this DAP/Phone, I'm really hoping for more detail and clarity.
And I'm not talking about the sound signature, but rather, technical specifics

Specifically, how it compares in terms of hardware and functions to the DP-X1 and DP-X1A?
I was assuming it was a DP-X1A + phone, but someone above just said it lacks the new capacitors of the DP-X1A and is just a DP-X1 (albeit with any possible QC issues hopefully resolved).
I imagine I might have to wait until after it's officially released for this info, or is it available already?
I've been following the thread on and off and hugely appreciate everyone's input, but haven't really seen definitive statements about this (or overlooked them accidentally).

One other question; does anyone know if this would work in the UK as a phone?
I don't know much about the technology involved and what kind of sim card I'd need here (and how it would work to have a choice of two)?
Right now I'm just using an old iPhone 4s.

It will be good as a phone in the United Kingdom. The phone supports 850/900/1800/1900 MHZ. UK bads can be found here http://www.4g.co.uk/4g-frequencies-uk-need-know/
