$100,000 USD for the Onkyo closed back version of the A800
This and the Sennheiser HE1 will be only worth it :p
Time to play the lotto.

same coloring
The black and gold is good. The problem was the marketing and sale pitch. Onkyo was pretty much on the verge of going bankrupt and they did in 2022.

Alternative spiritual successor to A800 are all the Philip headphones. Some like Philip versions over the A800, but the majority understand that the A800 are beyond the Philips and not to anyone surprise most to all the Philip versions are rated good.

Philip X3
Philip X2HR
Philip fidelio
Philip shp9500

The true successor to the A800 was a wooden Onkyo headphone that costed $3200 at released 2020. Most to none never heard it.

Yeah, it was released with the A800

A800
H900M
And a IEM E900M, that was gold and black. Same color scheme.

It looked like a series of products they launched together.

The H900M is actually very good. Very bassy and similar to Sony Z1R. The 100,000 dollar diamond Onkyo headphone is pretty much the H900M, maybe tuned a bit better? Hard to say.

I have heard sn-1 and it sounded quite different
Oh schiit! You heard the Sn-1?!

Can you elaborate more on the sound and build of the headphone? Most will never get to hear them or read a review on them.

I think the build and fit were good.
I only heard the used inventory for a short time, so I don't remember many details. My impression of the sound is generally consistent with that of the following site.
It is more of a dry sound that certain people seem to like.

I was reminded of this when I read the article. It certainly doesn't have the bass of EDITION9, so it may be closer to EDITION8.
To be honest, I don't think it is a sound that many people in headfi would like.

That was a funny review.

So far, I got from all this is it is like a ultrasone style of sound.

Dry, sharp, hd800 ish, almost like L5000 it seems. I'm actually not a fan of ultrasone headphones. Interesting nonetheless 🤔

From the description it sure is a departure from the warm, natural Harman Curve A800 sound.

It's too bad the Sn-1 was discontinued so fast. I wonder how many made it alive? Maybe 10 or 50 produced 🤔?

I checked aliexpress, I saw their drivers for sale sadly.

I have one. It is different to A800 and I don't think it soulds like ultrasone.

Fascinating, a little jelly. You got a rare gem it seems.

If you don't mind, a small review on them so we can understand their sound character.
