So most (or all??) issues so far can be solved by using a different/better usb-c to usb-c cable? The Onix probably has the sound signature I will like at a great price. If cable resolves the issue, I will just invest in a good cable.
Any 10Gb/s or 40Gb/s cable from about any chinese warehouse (for less than 10USD) should be good. I tried a lot: all worked.

This firmware only affect connection to iOS18, it has no impact on anything else.

Please make it clear what it fixed whenever there is an update.
The bug in Ver1.1.3 will damage user hearing and the headphone/earphone when changing volume in iOS18, this is VERY IMPORTANT.

I figured out in this Ver1.2.3 it fixed the bug of using the XI1 in key mode system volume control.
In Ver1.1.3 which will brust to maximum volume output at around 6th click from 0 and reset the volume back to 0 on the 7th click.
Which mean if you lower the volume from 7 (volume 0) to 6 (volume 100) your head will explode.

Each firmware update comes with a little bit of risk. And as iOSS18 is something only a small percentage of ONIX XI1 users will face, there is no reason why others should be updating, no matter how small the risk of firmware update is.

Okay so I have a problem, After installing the driver and updating the firmware every couple of minutes when connected to my windows 11 pc I get crackles, pops and even a split second audio skip. I have uninstalled the drivers and will see if this resolves the issue. This issue was not present before this.

Thank you

I have have two onix xl1s. I updated them both they were on the original firmware and i have IOS 18 ipad, I also wanted the stability and dsd512 support from 1.1 which i assume is part of the 1.2 firmware? Anyway about the issue i was experiencing, uninstallling the audio driver appears to have resolved the issue, so there must be someting wrong with the audio driver. Just to let you know incase anyone else has a similar issue.

I also wanted to mention and maybe im just hearing things but....jumping from the orignal firmware to 1.2 to me it sounds clearer/more detailed than beffore? I dont know maybe im just crazy but i really got that impression when listening to it after the update. I was in the middle of listening to a female voice in a video when i updated and then went right back to playing the video after the update and when i heard her breaths while she was talkinng it kinda gave me chills like the faint details of her breathing were suddenly audible. Take this with a grain of salt I might just be imagining things haha. Let me know if anyone else noticed anything after updating.

Thank you

Yeah. There is definitely a change in the sound after the update. Not as warm and a bit clearer. Now they need to work on that one noted bass and we'll be making real progress.

Two? Ok...I'm fighting hard about asking why do you have two of them...

But I have to ask...
You heard the snap-crackle-pop on the windows 11 after the upgrade?
Is this where you unloaded the audio driver?
(I've never tried to uninstall a driver on my Mac or iPhone.... )

I didn't upgrade my iPhone15 to iOS18 because I don't know what garbage Apple put in it... (spyware/AI) so I haven't needed to upgrade the firmware which IIRC would require a windows PC. (I run mac desktops w Linux servers.)
But on my Mac, I use the MIDI app to boost the output to the Alpha.

So I am curious about the upgrade.
If you go to iOS18... the issue is that the gain increases on the output from the iPhone? Is that the problem they are trying to fix?
