once dining at red lobster

Reb Lobster is a sit-in restaurant, and from the item price on menu you expect the service to be better than those pizzahut ones. So once I was in a restaurant, and I ordered an alcoholic beverage w/o knowing it is alcoholic. The waiter asked to see my ID, then I realized it and wanted to change because my body cannot take alcohol. I am over the drinking age but the waiter probably thought I was underage. Then when my dish came, the side was wrong, I asked for a change, it took them about 15 minutes while I am sitting there waiting for food to become cold. At the end when I asked for check, the waiter took out a piece of paper and handed to me. To my knowledge and my previous visits to Red Lobster, the check is handed to you in a folder. So I was kind of surprised when I got a piece of paper back like a visit to Walmart. I was kinda disappointed in the service and I have not gone to Red Lobster ever since.

Sorry you had a bad experience but their cheezy biscuits are the bomb!

I've only been once as well, about 7ish years ago. I'd rate it mediocre at best.

Pretty much... I've had better sea food at Rubios. The Dead Lobster is about = Sizzler IMO.

I went there as a kid with my parents and remember their "toy chest"...but anyway, I went there with my wife about 2 years ago and the food was terrible. My wife had fettucini alfredo with seafood, and it was more like a soup. The sauce was so watery and the seafood was cold. Haven't been there since...

The only time I ever go is for "endless shrimp". And yes those biscuits are tasty.

in nyc, when i want to eat seafood "family style" i go to City Crab - the in laws love it! we avoid red lobster like the plague.

I think the only real reason people go is because of cheesy biscuits. Buddy of mine would go, order a drink, eat a load of cheesey biscuits, ask for check and leave.

I have an intimate knowledge of most Darden chains. I won't tell you why.

Although I don't eat at Red Lobster, because I don't care for the food....they pride themselves on service and quality more than any restaurant I've ever come into contact with. I hold especially Red Lobster in one of the highest regards of any restaurants on the planet. I know their operations very well.

I would like to say that your experience is random, but there are a lot of bad servers out there.

A quick email to Darden would more than likely result in a sincere appology.

Try it.

They'd much rather have a fan than an enemy.

Lol, Let me get this straight- it's a restaurant that specializes in seafood, but the best dish is the bread? What a marketing nightmare.

First time the family went to Red Lobster, all four of us were sick...there never was a second time. Too damn greasy!

Red Lobster is far worse now that it ever has been. Once upon a time it was a descent place for seafood. I've had horrible service also and now only go about twice a year. It's not hard to find another seafood place that knows what they are doing. As for the biscuits, they are easy enough to make at home. If you really want them, I'll dig up a link.
