I have a Burson conductor 3x reference and I'm trying to use it with Avaya Softphone. It won't let me select the Burson because it is not a 'communications' device. Is there a way around this?

Have you installed the Windows driver's? I see they have several available. Windows update might be needed, but usually any input or output device for sound can be assigned default comm device.
