Many moons ago I bumped into this Brad Mehldau solo, never heard of the man before, and was stunned for days.. this man is something else!

Funny thing is, against my expectations, I never became a fan of his, althought he's obviously a genius, in general his play does not transcent the piano, of that makes sense..

I read people say he lacks humanity, but that's a bit harsh..lol

Funny thing is, I never warmed to his music either. Technically, no doubt, he is excellent. Yet, most of his music just doesn‘t touch me. The only album I like is his ‚Blues and Ballads‘ record. Not only is it meticulously recorded but it evokes something in me. I wouldn’t say he lacks the human touch, but many things come over as very technical, at least to me.

I'll give that album a go, cheers...his latest album ('Seymour Reads the Constitution' ) isn't too bad either from what I heard, just not great from my perspective
Maybe Mehldau is a musicians musician.. anyways our loss I'm sure

Very talented, but not much listening to his stuff here either.
