Official X3 2nd gen beta firmware thread--FW1.44: library search, ReplayGain, high speed USB, DoP, D2P...

Hi,

I've upgraded to beta 1.45 and it seems that there is still a bug related to equaliser: If you completely power off the player, when you power it on again there's no attenuation applied to current equaliser selected and sound is distorted, having to change equaliser selection in order go back to correct sound level (this is easily detected with a bass pumped equaliser).

If I just go to sleep mode, everything works fine.

I've upgraded to fw 1.45 and I've installed the latest DAC driver (3.34) on my laptop (Windows 8.1). However, when I connect my X3ii, it doesn't appear in the FiiO control panel. I can't see it under my devices in the Control Panel either. Any advice?

Hi, Solasuke.

So when you installed the DAC driver, your X3II was not connected with the computer by the micro USB cable at that time, right?
If so, pls try to install the DAC driver manually again after connecting the X3II with the computer.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your response! I solved this in a another thread. I didn't update my X3ii firmware from 1.4 is all :)

Nope, the gain is on high but the volume is on 70...the same setting I've used on previous firmware.

Are you using the equaliser? I think besides the problem I reported before where equaliser after power up is "broken" (without attenuation applied), sometimes I hear little distortions in sound compared to what I listened with previous firmwares.

I am using a custom equaliser and I'm noticing the issue more often at power up too. I've rolled back to 1.44 which has to be my most preferred firmware to date.

1.44 has a broken EQ. The EQ doesn't work at all with 1.44.
That's with the in-thread 1.44 they made available a few pages back. The "official" 1.44 beta on the first page of this thread does not have this issue. I do feel it is unfortunate they used the same build number to release a couple of variations.

They've still not fixed the broken search. It searches for tracks by filename and that makes searching useless.
