Northern Lights: Crystal Bitter Ale (5.5% ABV)
- Slight grains or something aromatics, it's not malty or hoppy..so its got to be grains
- Lots of CO2, big but light & fluffy head when poured, takes many minutes for it to die down
- Hmmm, odd ale flavor, it's almost more like a lager .. very different flavors
- Neither really malty or hoppy ..
- Not sure if I would buy it again, too odd flavors, 5/10

Lazy Boy: Mistletoe Bliss Winter Ale (7.8% ABV)
- Dark, semi alcoholy malty aromatics
- Dark semi-bitter malts, slight alcoholy, hints of some spice & some kind of citrus flavors
- Kinda like a high % ABV dark brown ale with semi-bitter & spice
- After taste mebby has traces of chocolate, but trails with alcoholy malts, lingers slightly
- Different for a Winter ale, besides the high ABV %
- I would try it again, 6.5/10

The US has a reputation (in the UK at least) for not understanding or appreciating real beer, nice to see that myth shattered on this thread.

Considering the amount of singles I drink I'm suprised I haven't posted in this thread before... I generally buy a beer and checkout beeradvocates while sipping it. Some good reviews here, I'm excited to try a couple that are new to me. I buy most of mine at Whole Foods, they have a pretty decent selection, similar to that of the grocery store you posted Joshatdot. From looking at that if you haven't already try LA FIN DU MONDE ~ it is most excellent!

I was surprised. Despite this beer's excellent reviews, I think this is about on par with the St. Barnardus Abt. 12. Don't get me wrong, big flavor, ultimate belgian smoothness and freshness, but not quite all it's cracked up to be, IMO. I did not expect the near-Duvel levels of carbonation, either. Still exceptionally drinkable...if you haven't had one of these, it's totally worth it.

Young's is probably one of my favorite beers of all time. Also tried Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA today. My god, what a brew.
