The best rig at the meet (mine) does not accept computer as source.

Theoretically you put your name and max price on a slip of paper near some donated gear. Much like analog ebay. In practice it turns into a pretty standard auction with someone yelling at people to give them money. 
 
$5-20 is reasonable to just give the organizer to cover room costs if you don't buy anything in the auction. If you want to buy stuff, maybe$200. Or prepare for a mad dash to an ATM machine.

There will be  blank name tags & markers by the front door on a table make sure to put your user name & first name on it.
