Owning these headphones for a few weeks, I must say that I really appreciate them ... even if they are on the warm and (little) smooth side.
But with somme tracks, I missed a bit on the treble side.
So, I tried several cables with no real changes, until I tried a dunu Hulk calbe.
And this one brings a better on the high hight - mids, with more dynamic.
I recommend, therefore

Apparently, Drop is about to announce a version of the FW1800 at $449. Headfonia just released the review.

As an early fan of the JVC/Victor woodies (the very first one, the HP-FX500, was released in 2008), I jumped at the chance to get a review loaner of Drop’s new collaboration with JVC (HA-FWX1, $449) which is a customized version of the HA-FW1800 ($599), and to hear how it improves the performance over its predecessor, the HA-FW01.

Well, the loaner arrived last week and I’ll be posting my review perhaps by this weekend. ✌️

Early impression, very tuneful bass and wet-sounding trebles with sparkle.

I tried a new ring, with the FW1800 : hidizs ap80 pro and DH80, and I'm really impressed.... Bass is better controlled.
Stage seems to be better too.

The XINHS graphene cable paire well with the fw1800.

My bass sensitivity must be all but lost if people think the FW1800 are bassy.
What DAP and cable do you use with your FW1800 ?

I tried stock cable and Sony IEM cable with Audio-gd NFB 12.1, and straight from my iPhone 12 Pro with lossless files. Both seemed pretty bass light. Especially when compared to the FW01.

EDIT: Found this cable on Amazon and really dig it. the MMCX connections are low profile and secure, and it's a very pliable/soft cable.

New ring if the day, with the FW1800 : Fiio X5 pro on laptop.
Basses seems better controled, with better impact than with my Fiio M15.
