Yeah I own the HA-1 and it powers the HEK very well. Check around the used market if you end up going for it too to save a little more cash, I was able to score mine for $800.

Agreed. They are quite extended in the treble region, but not bright to my ears...could be the source material, DAC, amp?

Are there any users that own the HE-1000 that have noticed a reduction in harshness with the treble since owning them?

Please say yes. I want to buy them tomorrow

Yes, me.

I bought my HE1K in used condition (3 months old) about three weeks ago. I also noted some harshness and sibilance in treble at the beginning, but after some burn in (50 additional hours or so) it disappeared within a few hours. Treble is still extended to my ears (I am used to the sound signature of the LCD-3), but the harshness disappeared. I do not know how long the HE1K needs to burn in altogether, but I would expect 100 - 200 hours.

I just bought one.  Should arrive in few days.

I hope it will be a good match with my Eddie Current 445 tube amp.

(since I finally decided for the HE1000 instead of waiting for availability of the Dharma, I also hope that the Enigma Dharma will not prouve to be better than the HE1000...

)

Can someone tell if the AK380+AK Amp can drive it (balanced mode) to it's full potential ? (it is not a matter of sound volume but of Quality sound)

Will be hard to reach its potential, but you can surely get a decent listening. HEK is not a easy-driven headphone, but it does not give out bad sound as well.

Hi........I have searched but cant find....so thought to save hours more trawling would ask!
Is anyone using the HE1000's with the Auralic Taurus mk2 amp and the Auralic Vega processor/dac?...and if so what are their thoughts on the results in comparison to other combinations?
Thanks in advance!

I heard the DAC and headphone at a meet, though it was a significantly different amplifier.
The sound was so good I decided to by the headphone and amplifier

At meet: AURALiC Vega > Cavalli Liquid Carbon > HiFiMan HE-1000
At home: Schiit Gungnir Multibit > Cavalli Liquid Carbon > HiFiMan HE-1000

Have the MicroZOTL2, LC is coming at the end of the week. Looks like the LC will be more "transportable", but will be interesting to compare...
Seems they were quite taken with the HEK/LC combo at the Washington meet.
