and bought a pair of the C751s from Amazon. I've been reading this thread (thanks soozieq) for more than a month and couldn't decide between these and JVC FX500s. I wanted silver (to match my ipod), but only black was available at the sale price. So far so good, but they definitely sound like they need to burn in. I'm looking forward to it. These are a huge step up from my C351s, which were slow with certain types of music and not much soundstage.

Sorry, I've never owned or tried the c551 or CX500. I did try CX300 and hated them, gave them away to the guy who cuts my grass/lawn.

I put Koss KEB 24 tips on mine, excellent noise isolation. My roommate was screaming at me and beating on the door... no clue. The bass really pours through. Sony EX tips fit me fine and are more comfortable, but absolutely incredible isolation and bass with these. These are no less comfortable than the Denon's.

Look closely at the photograph below: the tips come to the outer edge of the phone, almost touching it. And I really had to press hard and wiggle for them to go on, but once I did they fit very securely. Quite a remarkable experience with this combonation.

i just got em from frys 65.50+tax in store, they sound AWESOME EDIT anyone in usa wants a pair let me know 70.90 is price after tax then like 6 or 7 to ship em.
