This is a good thread for people looking to upgrade from teh UE SF 5 Pro to the Shure SE500.

The Shures are more clear and the bass tighter. The UE's have a musical sound, are richer sounding with more full bass.

Yea, mine smell like skunk.

I actually think these sound quite similar but the E530's sound more refined overall. Maybe due to the higher impedance. I find the bass, fullness of sound and detail to be about the same. Super Fis slightly more siblant/brighter and E530's more warm and laid back.

"IEM burn in" is probably just the user figuring out the placememnt of the new ear buds. you are so used to your old phones & how you insert that you try & do it with your new ones. after a while you figure out the proper way of doing it & they sit correctly.

i know this was the case with my etys!
are you really supposed to put things that deep in your ear? :/

Just for the record, it wasn't just anyone who said it. It was Shure staff. This was confirmed during the 1st International meet in NYC when i went to ask them.

Just for the record: "Shure IEMs do not benefit nor deteriorate from burn-in" - Quote Shure.

the shures are amazing,a massive tip would be get the new black foam tips they are worlds apart my shure se530 sound way better simply because of these, and burn in dont exist for balanced armatures, thats an absolute fact and thats an end to it,shure says it,ultimate ears has told me and just about every proffesional i have spoke to says it so no there was no burn in with the e500 clearly ur imagination, however wild it is,the super fi 5 have more bass, but the shure has cleaner bass by miles, making it hit harder and cleaner, the super fi's boom more, the super fi's have harsher highs, the shures absolutely get the highs bang on in my oppinion very well balanced, the mids are no contest the shures are about the best earphones on the market when it comes to amazing clean balanced mids, overall you can tell the winner,u pay more you get more, more drivers equal cleaner sound, unless the drivers are *****,in the case of the shures and ue's they aint
