Because many high-end closed phones now have either a 3.5mm jack or a screw-on adapter jack?

I'm really glad it's gone so I guess we're all different. In my case, I tend to use only IEMs for portable listening so 6.3mm sockets are a hassle.

Well for the people who wanted a larger Jack it was the only option, I'm only confused because dropping a popular option seems a bit like shooting themselves in the foot...
Not enough storage on Colorfly players for my tastes anyway, so I'm ambivalent...

Yeah, ideally they'd have both jacks at full quality. The C4's 3.5mm jack was disappointing compared to the 6.3mm.

Naming says lower but who knows, it can be the better part in the family. I definitely dig the design though, very handsome one. Looking forward to learn full specs of it.

^ Yeah, that UI looked really primitive and maybe comparable to the barebone system of C4 Pro. LOL
Nothing to write home about other aspects as well but I only care about the SQ of D100's line out.

As an owner of several (slightly older) Chinese DAPs--QLS. Colorfly, Teclast--I do note important diffs.
Back in the "early" days (2009-2011), there were some reliability issues, but the Chinese seemed to have licked most of them. All my 4-5 year units are going strong, some enduring daily use. (You have to take care of them -- not just toss in non-ventilating, high-vibration/abuse environment, like a back pocket).
Hints for designers (past/present/future) of DAPs: two DAC chips, one per channel, make a difference. E.g., my Teclast t-51 with 2x Wolfson WM8740 sounds better than QLS-350 that has 1x Wolfson WM8740. The 2nd DAC chip takes up up very little extra PCB real-estate (or power), and they are only $3.00 ea (bulk, even for several "premium" models).
Also, dear DAP manufs', don't skimp on output opamps (I modded my DAPs with better Analog Device OPA than the ones the device came with stock--and that REALLY improved sonics).
The high-quality (but reasonable-price) DAP is a fun market. It's okay for the same manufs to develop luxury/high-end (i..e, AK, etc.) ... that technology will trickle down to more-affordable ... in given time
