oBravo Cupid

For anyone in the US: Bloom Audio just started carrying the Cupid yesterday. I'm really, really excited about this one. I first heard the Cupid about a month ago and within seconds, knew that I had to get it in our store ASAP. I don't know what kind of black magic the team at oBravo did here, but the Cupid sounds wayyy better than you'd expect for just $269. They're also quite beautiful, with a great fit and finish, and a super nice 2.5mm balanced cable (+ 3.5mm adapter) included. I uploaded a video of my impressions on it if you'd like to learn more:

I know that I could be biased since we sell them, but honestly...this thing gets my unwavering recommendation at this price.

This is the perfect cable for the cupid with the mmcx mod. It looks and sounds beautiful. :)
Braided 8 core silver coated ofc cable from LZ.

Nice Pic but how did you mod that cable? Did you buy the oB connectors?
Could you provide a link to where you got the cable?
Tks.

@holsen I grinded down the mmcx connector on the cupid, so the standard mmcx connector on any cable fits on the cupid.

@PhilW Both tips are turned around. It is a trick to get the sound of silicon tips and the comfort of the foam tips. If you turn around foam tips they don't damp or cut the high frequencies. I tried so many tip and the flipped around complys sounds absolutely perfect.

I also removed the metalmesh from the nozzle. They sound incredible now. With this cable, the flipped complys and removed mesh, they have a holographic soundstage and more precise sound. I like them a lot!

Good idea(s). I will try them both! Did you just use a dremmel to.do the grinding?

I think a dremel is to rough for this job. I used a nailfile to grind slowly down the ob-mmcx connector. You have to work very precise. You have to grind only until the gap of the connector bearly dissappear, not further!
OK, now I know what to do and how to do. Much appreciated.

Placed an order for the Cupids with Audio Concierge in the UK on Monday. They arrived in Holland on Wednesday. That's pretty quick.
The sound is amazing. Straight out of the box I much prefer them over my ER4XRs. The high end of the Cupids is smoother without losing detail.
