You're right, I mistook this image for the real ones. That is however the previous/older version of the DIY Odisea (Nautilus clone) by another builder.

I once saw the real ones in a hifi shop in I believe Stuttgart, very impressive speakers to see. Sadly I didn't get to hear them play.

Wow, very impressive. And I can't even get up the courage to try some simple single-driver diy speakers.

Even if its a three driver speaker vs. the original four driver one, and that he use totally different drivers...

id love to have the resources, money, time and skill to be able to build something like this, they're totally amazing. within the next 3-5 years i hope to have a diy passive/active (switchable) pre-amp/headamp (designing is complete, i just need the cash), complimenting my diy tube amp (i have a bunch of improvements planned...) with a pair of impressive diy speakers (i have my heart set on the Troels Graven PMS). maybe even one day ill try to diy a cdp. seeing stuff like this only serves to make me more determined to realise the project. thanks for the linky, it was very entertaining.

The real ones cost 50,000 big ones, according to my quick google search. I wonder how much it cost to make these and how they compare.

I'm sure the guy's wife was thrilled to have that thing around the house, laying on there bed, and sitting in their garage for weeks.

I havent gone to read the article yet.........
But do they claim this to be true??
Because those are not B&W drivers. The mid and woof look to be SEAS and the tweet is most definitely a ScanSpeak.

I would be very interested in knowing how they actually sound.
I auditioned the original Nautilus back in the day and found it to be fairly crappy. Then again, it was a bunch of nitwits that owned that store anyway, so who really knows.

But those drivers sure are nice!

Nope, not mine, nor do I have any part in it nor do I know the owner. Nor do I live in the same country. Would love to hear/see them though.

Sadly, these are all that I've mastered on the DIY speakers front.

Hey, I think I'll build those!
