It's a beautiful and powerful DAC dongle cable. I own the first "balanced" model DC01 and I like the sound of AK chip but I noticed that after short use, the device heats up a lot.
What is the case with DC03?

I don't had the Dc01 or dc02 but dc03 has a metal casing (probably for faster heat dissipating), yes it gets warm but not alot, it's not bothering and so far I liked the sound of it. Vocals are pronounced and everything clear, bass and treble. It's a neutral sound. And it can power your hard to power iems easily.

Doesn't work on Samsung phones, wish I had returned while I had the chance. It should be in the sales page as Samsung is one of the most popular phone companies. It is possible to sometimes get working but involves playing with multiple settings and restarting the phone every single time I want to listen. Most recent firmware was supposed to fix it. It didn't. iBasso have confirmed via email that I should use a different one with Samsung i.e. there is no fix. Waste of $60.

We tested a Samsung Note 8 (SM-N95OU) REV1.0 with Android version 9. What do you have? Can you forward iBasso's email response to us? We have a contact form on our website.
I have a Samsung Note 9 (SM-N9600) with Android 10.

I can't forward emails in your contact form so I will copy and paste the reply here and repeat there:

First this was included in an email:

"1. Samsung smartphones have restrictions on USB OTG. They only support their own brand dongle. If you want to use a third-party dongle on your Samsung phone, first connect the dongle to the phone, restart the phone, and then you can use it normally."

It is not as simple as just restarting the phone every time I want to listen. And there is no compact Samsung USB C to USB C dongle - I would need to buy a big one with 4 or 5 different ports for various devices. Not something you would use everyday with a phone. The smallest dongle costs $90 and it isn't in stock so they may not even make it anymore -the reviews are all from 2-3 years ago on their website. Not sure if I am allowed to post links, it is just called: "Multi-Port USB-C Adapter, Black $89.99"

Then this was the last one:

"Hello,

If you mainly use the DC03 with your Samsung, the DC03 may not suitable for you. We don't have a solution to work with Samsung without reboot.

Sincerely
iBasso Audio"
