I understand, that is why I went with a used HR-2. I really wanted the raptor but it just seemed like so much for something so small. I think that is where everyone comes up with the idea that more can be had for your money.

I find describing what a good tube amp does so well to be very difficult. You just have to try it. "Midrange Magic" is certainly part of it in terms of a very simplistic explanation, but there is much more to it than that.

I can only recommend the tube amps I have which are in the Opera's league, the Darkvoice 337 and the SinglePower Extreme.
