Hi everyone,

So I recently received a Fiio e18 as a present and currently use it with my Note 3 smartphone as a dap/dac/amp combo. On the go I am satisfied, but at home and in the office I find myself the combo a bit cumbersome because I cannot use my phone for its everyday purposes with the dac hanging on.

With that said, I am considering in buying a use ipod classic or nano as a seperate DAP and use the e18 as an amp.

Is the internal DAC on the ipod up to par with the e18 DAC? Would it be worth it? Or should I suck it up and stick with the note?

I do prefer to use the e18 somehow becaus I find it quite useful, especially as a nice carry on charge pack.

Stick with the Note, then when you upgrade, keep that Note as an Android music player with the E18. Or get a cheap, older Android that works with it if you can't use you work computer with it.
