There was one NOS K1000 just sold on fleabay in Denmark for nearly US$1700. Looks like the demand for it is still alive and well...

NOS K1000's don't show up too often these days, since its ~3 1/2 years since it went out of production. So there are definitely a demand, and people are willing to pay.
I have seen NOS pair sell for up to $1,600, but $1,700 sounds like a new record.

At least that what I take from the answer from AKG, after I emailed them about a possible K1000 successor or revival.

You have the record this year indeed.
Last year one scored a K1000 for €220 though, even if it don't seem to be NOS (in Sweden as well

How about a dumbed down version. Close to the K1000 abilities but easier to drive.. And a 1/4 connector. Sell for 899.00.

Wow if I could get a NOS K1000 for $330, I'd be on that like no tomorrow: aesthetics and ergonomics be damned. That's one lucky guy.
