I agree with everything Pavel said about it, I've honestly never heard a portable amp that sounds better. I havn't tried it with low impedance cans, but it is the only portable that I've heard that can drive my 600 ohm K240 without freaking out. Sounds like a mini-PPA

I'll have my copy of the pimeta-v2 there. I'm pretty impressed with its sound. its not class-A'd or anything fancy (yet).

another newbie question: do people come with their own headphones, to plug into 'listening stations' ?

I am planning on bringing dacs and amps but not any phones. if I do bring phones, they'll be 'with me' as I walk around, myself, and so none are planned to be left at my table.

does that make my listening station less useful or can I assume that people will have 1/4" and 1/8" plugs and phones and they'll just plugin to whatever tables' equip they want. yes?

People do bring phones to be able to rove around among rigs (I know I do anyways). Howver I think if you have a rig set up to be demo'd I think it might be good to have a second pair linked up to your rig by default.

anyone have a monitor I can borrow for the meet? My monitor for my mac mini system is 42 inches and I could really use a 15 or a 17 if someone can hook me up with a spare for the meet.

thanks
John

I got one that I'm not using.

Wow, this really is turning into quite a meet! I guess JP has the golden touch!

A couple of things,..

In addition to my Tape Project /He Audio Jades rig I'm going to bring a couple of pairs of the new Tube Tech 12ax7's (E813cc). I'm very impressed with them and I've promised Craig from Eddie Current to let him try them in his new phono stage but others with a position in their amps for this tube are welcome to try them. If you haven't heard about them here's their web site (be sure and check out the "historical films" section to watch a tour of the old Mullard Blackburn plant,.. fantastic!)

On another note, I noticed a lot of photography related posts here too. Doc Bottlehead, who will be there, is an excellent photographer himself so you might want to talk shop with him. There used to be a link to some of his stuff online but it looks like the upgraded site doesn't include a gallery yet.

See you guys in a couple of days.

The a's are awful for most genres.. But I can EQ the sound with my receiver to make them sound much better for rock.. I have to work on the 8th.. 12:30-7:30.. No Sunday meets, hu?

Hrm.. actually won't be bringing qualias since I swapped the headband from Mikhail's to the stock large-sized headband and that's not going to fit anyone except me and maybe like 1 other person if that.

I will bring both pairs of my Audeze LCD-1s though.
