I dropped my ipod a lot of times already...once even so bad it feel half a meter from my jacket and rolled thrice.

its still working with no problem. at that time I only had a very thin silicone casing.

Glad to hear that everything worked out in the end. It would be such a shame to see anyone lose a DAP to an accident (although accidents always happen).

Let us know if the sound quality has changed. Perhaps this could even be re-labeled as a "mod"

The answer might be to check one of the many iPod repair joints on the internet and figure out what the cost will be, and then maybe put it up for sale as-is. If the price is right, someone will want to fix it, don't you think? That's better than throwing it out, anyway.

I feel your pain, by the way. Wouldn't it be nice to dial time back 5 minutes anytime you want?
